CHARGING LEVELS
Level 1 Charging:
This is your standard plug in that came with your vehicle and allows you to plug in to a normal 120V outlet. Charging times from EMPTY to FULL typically take 2-4 days.
Level 2 Charging:
This is a 240V charging system utilizing your vehicle’s L2 home charger (purchased separately). In almost all cases this installation is required to be done by a licensed electrician as it usually entails running a separate line from your electrical panel to power the L2 charger. Typical charging times from EMPTY to FULL are 4-8 hours.
Level 3 Charging:
These are your various superchargers found around time and is not something that is installed in your home. Using 480V+ of electricity these charges will get you fully charged in 30 – 60 minutes.
WHY WE RECOMMEND LEVEL 2 VS. LEVEL 1 CHARGING
Installing a Level 2 EV charger offers several benefits compared to a standard Level 1 charger. Here are some advantages of installing a Level 2 charger –
